from Bathory's Journal, dated December 25th, 1609:

"...Alas! A wrinkle erupted upon my brow since yesterday morn. I have decided to set aside the needles, the biting and honey ants for now, and focus on blood bathing. There is a dearth of virginal maidens from my storeroom downstairs, however. I shall send for a fresh supply come morning..."
